Overview:
Applied Sciences Group has delivered more than 25 building energy management systems (software and hardware) to Bloomingdales Department Store (a business unit of Federated Department Stores). Since climate control in a department store translates directly to customer comfort, these systems have been built around an easy-to-use operator interface developed specifically with department store lighting, heating and air conditioning in mind. The systems, which feature Timber software, rely on a central processor that communicates control parameters to local control panels, which are tied to the various lighting and HVAC systems. The software is written primarily in Visual Basic with low-level device drivers written in C.
